Why This Is Happening

The 5900 South crossing is being replaced due to:

  • Damaged rail and concrete
  • Rough road and track
  • Customer, driver, and train operator complaints about poor conditions

This work is necessary to ensure safe and reliable service on the Red and Blue TRAX lines. This maintenance is part of UTA’s ongoing efforts to keep the Red and Blue Lines in good condition, reduce future disruptions, and improve long-term service quality.
