Persons With Disabilities
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) offers a reduced fare on fixed-route service (not valid on Paratransit services) for qualified people with a disability. After verification and approval, a Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will be issued to the qualified applicant. The Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will expire five (5) years after issuance and a renewal application will need to be submitted.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines an individual with a disability as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.
Disabled individuals may include but are not limited to:
- A person living with respiratory, cardiac, or neurological disabilities; a person receiving dialysis; or a person living with AIDS, MS, or chronic progressive debilitating disease
- A person with a disability that affects mobility, including but not limited to: people who are non-ambulatory, use a mobility aid, or have arthritis or an amputation
- A person who is blind or visually impaired
- A person who is deaf or has a hearing disability
- A person with an intellectual disability or developmental disability
- A person with a psychiatric disability that is chronic in nature

Youth
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) offers a reduced fare on fixed-route service (not valid on Paratransit services) for qualified youth ages 6 to 18. (Ages five [5] years and younger ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.) After age verification and approval, a Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will be issued to the qualified applicant. The Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will expire five (5) years after application date or when the applicant turns 19 years of age. A renewal application will need to be submitted for applicants under the age of 19.
Qualifying Income
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) offers a reduced fare on fixed-route service (not valid on Paratransit services) to individuals with qualifying income. To receive this reduced fare, individuals must be 19 to 64 years old and meet one of the qualification criteria identified below:
- Be enrolled in one of the following Department of Workforce Services programs:
- SNAP (food stamps)
- Child Care assistance
- Family Employment Program
- Medical Assistance
- HEAT (Home Energy Assistance Target Program)
- General Assistance (GA)
- Cash/Financial Assistance (TANF)
- ABD (Aging, Blind, Disabled)
- Household annual gross income (before taxes) must not exceed the max gross income as displayed below:

After verification and approval, a Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will be issued to the qualified applicant. The Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will expire one (1) year after issuance and a renewal will need to be submitted.
Seniors
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) offers a reduced fare on fixed-route service (not valid on Paratransit services) for qualified people 65 years of age and older. After verification and approval, a Reduced Fare FAREPAY card will be issued to the qualified applicant. A Reduced Fare FAREPAY Card will expire after five (5) years from issuance date. A renewal application must be submitted at this time.
